Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications do I need to teach with OurGuid?
We look for tutors with native or near-native Arabic proficiency, at least 2 years of teaching experience, and preferably a degree in Arabic, linguistics, or education. Technical requirements include a stable internet connection, webcam, and microphone for online teaching.
How much can I earn as an Arabic tutor?
Tutor rates vary based on experience, qualifications, specializations, and student reviews. New tutors typically start at competitive rates with opportunities for increases as you build your reputation and student base on our platform.
Can I set my own schedule?
Yes! Our platform is designed for flexibility. You can set your own availability and work as many or as few hours as you'd like. This makes it perfect for both full-time tutors and those looking for part-time opportunities.
What type of Arabic do I need to teach?
We welcome tutors who can teach Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha) and/or various Arabic dialects. The more varieties you can teach, the more students you can potentially work with, but we have demand for specialists in specific dialects as well.
How long does the application process take?
Our typical application review takes 3-5 business days. If selected, you'll be invited to a video interview, followed by a teaching demonstration. The entire process usually takes 1-2 weeks from application to onboarding.
Do I need to prepare my own teaching materials?
While we provide a library of resources and curriculum materials, we encourage tutors to personalize their teaching approach. You can use our materials, adapt them to your style, or create your own lessons based on student needs.
